Raising Over $10 Million and Counting: How Mighty Penguin Helped Loveland Living Planet Aquarium Build a Science Learning Center and Plaza
Loveland Living Planet Aquarium's journey is a testament to the power of determination and vision. The Aquarium's founder, Brent Andersen, overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles to turn his dream into reality, and Mighty Penguin had the honor of joining him on this incredible journey. As part of our role, we provided strategic support and guidance to the Aquarium's team in their efforts to build a new Science Learning Center and Plaza, including designing a case statement, reviewing donor giving potential, and participating in expansion design and planning.
We worked tirelessly with community and public organizations such as Salt Lake County, Draper City, and the State of Utah, to help raise over $10 million towards the $30 million goal. Our efforts culminated in securing the lead gift from the Skaggs family, which facilitated several other significant gifts. Our work with the Aquarium exemplifies how we serve as interim staff while organizations are building their capacity. As their development team, we ensured ongoing fundraising efforts were sustained through the campaign, positioning the Aquarium for continued success with their engaging programs and offerings to the community.
